Cynthia is currently serving as the National Vice President of United Women in Faith having been elected to the board of directors from the North Texas Conference (NTC). Cynthia moved to Denton in 2016 from the
Central Texas Conference where she was honored to serve as the CTC UMW president (2008- 2012). During her first quadrennium as national director Cynthia served on the UMW Act of Repentance Working Group.
She currently serves on the Texas Impact Board of Directors, a justice advocacy group. Cynthia and her husband Dr. Charles Rives live in Denton with their two children and their families. They are members of the First United Methodist Church Denton.
