Phiebie Hutchins

Phiebie Hutchins is the youngest daughter of the late Reverend C.L. Hutchins and Lady Bettie Hutchins. Phiebie started her ministry journey under the leadership of her father at the Samaria Church of God in Christ in Kernes, TX, and served faithfully until his retirement in 1992.
Phiebie serves as a dedicated and faithful member of St. Luke “Community” United Methodist Church, where she has served since 1994. Serving mostly in music and worship, she as volunteered her time wherever and whenever needed within her local church, her conference and her community. She assisted in organizing St. Luke” Community “United Methodist Church’s second location, which is in the city of Desoto, TX (now The Village UMC), and served as the first Minister of Worship and Arts. She also served as minister of music at the Warren United Methodist Church, Dallas, TX.
She studied classical and jazz vocal performance at Prairie View A & M University and she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in vocal music. She also earned a dual Master of Psychology and a master’s in worship leadership from Dallas Baptist University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance. She has been employed with the Dallas Independent School District for 27 years and currently works in the Accounting and Finance department as a federal accountant/auditor.
Throughout her journey in music, she has sung alongside some of the worlds most noted musical artist. Some of her background vocal credits: Lionel Richie, Patti Labelle, Natalie Cole, Chaka Chan, Walter Hawkins, Dorinda Clark Cole, Kurk Carr, Reed, Bryon Cage, V. Michael Mckay, Kathy Taylor, Dr. LueDella Evans Reed and the historic Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church-Chicago, Milton Brunson, Charles Jenkins and Rev. Dr. Cynthia Wilson, just to name a few.
She is a Certified Lay Minister in the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. She currently serves as co-chair for the North Texas Conference Black Church Initiative, chairs the North Texas Conference Ethnic Local Church Concerns committee, North Texas Conference Black Methodist for Church Renewal local caucus. She serves on the NTC nominations committee, the bishops core cabinet leadership committee, and the District Committee on Ordained Ministry (dCOM) and chair for North Texas Conference Black Methodist for Church Renewal local caucus.
Her life is made complete with the love she shares with her children, Cameron, Blake, and granddaughter Kali Jade Hutchins.
She applies the word of God as it is written in the book of Philippians, “ Do not be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present, your requests to God and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”.
